Return to Narnia
Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are summoned back to Narnia, only to discover that the land they loved has been conquered and its old magic is fading. In this new, grimly practical Narnia, even Aslan has become little more than a fairy tale.
Meanwhile, young Prince Caspian, heir to the throne, still believes in the old stories. Forced to stand against his uncle, he joins the remnants of Old Narnia in a desperate struggle to reclaim the kingdom. But battles alone cannot restore what has been lost. For Narnia to awaken again, its people must rediscover the faith, courage, and wonder they have forgotten.

“You have listened to fears, Child.”
Created With Young Performers in Mind
A meaningful, flexible, and rewarding play for young performers
MEANINGFUL ROLES
Distinctive characters give young performers opportunities to explore courage, loyalty, doubt, leadership, friendship, and growth.
FLEXIBLE CASTING
Designed for casts from 12 performers with doubling to as many as 25, giving schools flexibility to suit the students they have.
FAITH AND DOUBT
At the heart of the play is Lewis’s central question: will the characters trust what is true even when they cannot yet see or prove it?
ADVENTURE WITH PURPOSE
Battles, humour, and the wonder of Old Narnia serve a deeper story about restoring what has been forgotten and learning to follow courageously.
The Author's Note
A few words from the writer about the heart behind the play

“Prince Caspian” is a wonderful book - funny, exciting, bittersweet and touching. In writing this stage adaptation, I have endeavoured to keep all of that delightful humour and stirring magic in a form that children will love to act out. But “Prince Caspian” is also brimming with wisdom. Never one to shy away from big questions, C.S. Lewis explores some of the thorniest problems of our own day and age: What does faith look like in an agnostic world? What happens when we tame nature to death? What makes a true leader? And how should conquerors and colonized people relate to each other? In “Prince Caspian”, we are offered wonderfully wise and warm answers to these problems, and more. To make this complex narrative more accessible to young actors, I have simplified the structure to avoid the use of flashback, and have included ample stage directions to make it practical for school performances. The battles, the friendships, the betrayals and rescues, and the final discovery of what it is to be a leader, are all discovered through story and character interaction, rather than stated openly. This production is ideal for performers aged ten to fifteen years old.
